Custom lighting tool

Control every aspect of lighting in your image with Focalpoints intuitive lighting tool.

It is hugely important for the lighting in a photo to be "correct" in order for the photo to be considered high quality. Cameras now include program modes these try to optimise the cameras settings to accommodate the scene the subject is in, the problem is that there are infinite scenes with variations that are impossible to cater for.

The only way to cater for all the numerous conditions of lighting is to post-process the photo manually using your own judgement in an editor like Focalpoint.

We believe that Focalpoint has the most advanced easy to use lighting system available on the market today. Why? Because it is real-time any adjustments made are instantly seen on the image displayed.

Any image can be broken down into three sections shadows, highlights and midtones. These are easily adjusted in the lite version, in the standard version there is also control of how black pure black is in the image and how white pure white is in the image this is important for creative shots.

One other major thing to consider is white balance.

The reason that pictures turn out with a yellow/orange cast in incandescent (tungsten) lighting and bluish in fluorescent lighting is because light has a colour temperature. A low colour temperature shifts light toward the red; a high colour temperature shifts light toward the blue. It's these temperatures that cause color casts in the image.

Color temperature can instantly be changed by just moving a slider in the lighting control panel. One neat trick is to take the vibrance down to 0, making the image black and white then add a little warmth to the image, this will generate a sepia tone image!
